I got a weird package from USMA?

Alright, I got this manilla folder from USMA, and in it there is a letter from "Carlson Wagonlit Travel" and states "Dear candidate of the class of 2010" and after this the first line reads" congratualtions on your decision to attend the United States Military Academy" The package also had police record forms, immunization forms, and this big bookloot that says "candidates who ahve been accepted" Now, I never receivied any other things from USMA prior to this package. ie, I did not receive an actual letter offering an appointment. I never sent anything back confirming whehter or not I would be attending either. So I am wondering how/why I got this package and if I had receivied it in error.

My son received the same packet today with no appointment folder yet. We did receive a call from our congressperson yesterday telling us he was appointed. My first son went to WP, so I know the packet you received contains important instructions that must be completed prior to R-day. I assume you both will receive the appointment papers soon.

Hugh, that can only be good! Yahoo!

Congratulations!! Hard to believe it didn't contain the folder with the certificate of appointment signed by the Supe. You sure it's not in there?>

Son received this packet AFTER he received his appointment in the mail. Maybe a different office sent out the travel arrangemment packets from the office that sent out the appointment packets??? And they crossed in the mail?

Kat

I received the same packet yesterday and I was appointed in november. This can only mean that you are appointed so congrats. Word of advice...don't send in the appointment declination card accidentely.

i dunno, i dont want to jump the gun on anything. It would be kind of weird that I didnt receive the "black folder" first. I am not even sure how that would be possible, except if it was a mistake of some sort...

The last couple years, the folders were green with a Department of the Army crest on the front. I really wish I could remember the timeline for the arrival of both the folder and the packet with all the instructions and cards...seems like they came very close, but the folder came first.

How long after the nominations were put up on the candidate site did you guys receive your folders?

My son's appointment arrived today--it's beautiful--one day after the manila folder.

I just got the folder today. All I can say is HOLY SMOKES....

btw, quick question. There was a west point acceptance card in the package. The card had a big red "NE" written on it. I am not sure if Im supposed to send it in or just ignore it?

ok so if Im not accepted I get a letter too?

Hugh--yes, you send in the card--don't ignore it. Congratulations!!

The NE is your region... I'm GL (great lakes).

the NE is your race. In your case, its Night Elf. I'm HU, or human.

wheres jamz... he'd get it...

Message to Taffy from the Jamz -
"I am cool. Paladin & a 'I win' button. Come play."
