I got an email from a georgia tech admissions counselor.

Hey,

I got an email from GT admissions saying that they need a final transcript for the end of this semester to make a decision to transfer. (The email said i could ask questions). I am probably going to respond to the email asking:

What summer classes they recomend i take before going to GT if i was to be accepted.

What the email means, ie... is it a conditional statement saying that if i keep consistant grades then i have a good shot. and what my current chances for acceptance are roughly.

If waiting on my final transcripts hurts me, because they will get them in may, and then that means that there could be less space for me.

I am wondering if anyone knows what the email i recieved means ie... is it straightforward or a conditional statement or whatnot. Also is the email im sending ok to send? will it hurt my chances somehow?

I am freaking out a bit because i really want to go to georgia tech. Thanks.

it sounds like they want a midyear grade report if theyre asking "for the end of this semester". dont wait til may to send that.

Space may not be an issue if applying as a transfer student with at least enough credits for sophomore status. Ask if the final grades are required for all or most other transfer applicants.

The transcript they ask for is the one for spring 2007. it will have my last 3 required classes completed on it.

Also you are saying i should ask "Do all transfer applicants for sophmore status require final transcripts" instead of "what does this email mean? does it mean im boarderline" essentially?

Ask as many good questions as you like. It shows interest and enthusiasm.
