i got in today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
30ACT/ 3.9

Dazefest, how do you think your essays were?
I'm having a hard time writing these things.

If my application was complete (everything needed sent in) on October 13th, when can I expect to be admitted (assuming I am qualified)

Got in as well.

Lucky duck!

my essyas were not "great" they were i would say average

one of my essays had subtle humor....
one sounded very "intelligent"
the other was rather "responsible" and "grown up"

akhila.....u are prolly really close to a decision....keep checking the site..

Thank you, thats great news! But very sadly, I don't have wolverine access :( :( They never sent me an email with UMich ID and I have been waiting for a while, ever since I submitted my application. I am really annoyed, because now I cannot check my status online.

Do they ever send out admissions decisions through email?
And if not, when do they send the admission letter in the mail, compared to when they post it on wolverine access?

Why not call them? Same thing happened to one of my friends. He got his ID after calling them.

I am really starting to worry, seeing as I applied Sept. 9th and was fully recieved by Sept. 19th. I know they say no news is good news, but in this scenario I certainly do not feel like that's the case.

You're losing perspective.

Michigan makes only a tiny proportion of its admit decisions in the month of October. The bulk of the class is admitted later.

It is not rational to lose hope when they've only been admitting students for a few weeks.

akhila,
i saw that I had been admitted on wolverine access the night before i got my letter.... so i don't think it's on wolverine access very long before you find out via snail mail....

and hoedown, do they only admit the ppl (Sept. applicants) who are most qualified in October, and wait till later... informally defer... the rest of the September applicants?

i haven't got my mail back. This really sucks. i wonder what happened.

This one friend of mine got into U of M AA, with a 25 ACT and 3.5 GPA, and he takes mostly easier classes. He is white with no stellar ECs, and I'm wondering how he got in. I'm really glad for him, but even more surprised!!!!!!!

Your friend was lucky. It happens, but not often. I would say that the acceptance rate for white students who are non-athletes with ACT scores under 26, SAT scores under 1200 and GPAs under 3.6 is very low.

yea same thing happened with a kid in my class last year. So lucky! but he went to loyola chicago anyways lol pff...

hey do u guys know for housing preference, do i put residence hall or student family housing? whats the difference?

i wnna know this too

If you have a family that will be coming to Ann Arbor with you, put family housing. Otherwise, it's residence hall.

Family Housing has generally been reserved for students who have spouses and children. These tend to be grad students. As the need for undergraduate housing has increased, the U has put unused family housing to use as apartment-style living options for groups of undergraduates (even though they are not married and aren't living as a family). However, freshmen have generally not been eligible. Those spaces are for returning upperclassmen only.

i applied end of oct. how?

I was formally deferred until first semester senior year grades today.
