Accepted. Great news. But wait... dammit...what is this? I actually have to try this semester?

I currently have a B-average for this semester--down from my perfect 4.0 for the last 7 semesters. I'm just trying to enjoy my last semester of senior year. Do you think Yale minds? I might even get a C in my AP Physics class, is this a problem?

I'm just asking how low I can go before they kick me out.

I read an article, I think on the Daily News, that if your grades change dramatically Yale will call and ask what’s going on. For certain reasons (like a family death, competition, etc.) Yale will most likely not do anything about it. They said they normally wouldn’t do anything anyway… so don’t mess up too bad (as selter01 says).

I’m in a similar situation. I’m in at Yale and I think I may end up with a B or God forbid a C in an online AP Physics course. My mother is super distraught about it, but I’m hoping that Yale will not ask any questions about a single B for an entire high school career. If they do I hope they will understand that there were issues with the online format etc. and not think I’m a lazy student. Has anyone had any experience with something like this in the past?

(Also, I think I made a thread about this but I can’t find it so, oh well, haha).

lw256 – They aren’t going to care about one B or C.

countryroads10 – They might care about a precipitous drop in your GPA. Why are you doing this? Why are you being this reckless? That is a question you probably don’t have an answer to but you should think about it.

Remember, Yale’s not looking for a reason to kick you out. They believed in you enough to accept you, and they want to keep you. I’m sure you’ll be okay unless something very very dramatic happens with your grades.
