I got accepted into SDSU’s direct entry nursing program, and I’m very happy! However, as I recall, you could only be eligible for admission if you’ve received B’s or higher in lab sciences including chemistry. I received a C in one semester of AP Chem in my junior year and I’m confused as to how I was still accepted into the nursing program. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this normal?
Hopefully it is not an oversight by admissions since it does state a minimum B grade for Chemistry including AP Chemistry. You might want to double check with Nursing admissions since I am assuming they have not yet reviewed your final HS transcript.
Another scenario would be that you excelled in all your other classes and they gave you the benefit of doubt that you could handle to program with the C in AP Chem.
Better safe than sorry and best of luck.
Did you happen to take regular chemistry as well? If so they may have accepted that instead. I took both and I remember asking what would happen if I got a C but got B or higher in regular chem. This was 3ish years ago though.
