I got in without a 2000+ SAT score...

I’m African-american, and it’s not because of my race that I am saying this, but bashing kgoodwin will not do any good. were in his/her postion, you wouldn’t be so upset at affirmative action. Kgoodwin isn’t acting as if he/she didn’t get a boost from their race, however there is no reason to being insulting people. Get over it. Affirmative action is here, and as of right now, it’s not going anywhere. Im not necessarily advocating it but stop conplaining. Life isn’t fair and neither is college admissions. If you don’t like it, don’t apply to a selective college, or college a all for that matter, if you all are so against hooks. My point is, is that if you had the hook, you wouldn’t complain. So grow up, and get over it.

I apologize for my contribution to this thread turning into one of AA, that was not my intent. What I was trying to bring out was the fact that concentrating on a single factor in college admissions is not helpful, that the entire picture of a candidate needs to taken into context.

Closing this thread, further comments should be directed to the sticky Race FAQ thread.
