I just got my acceptance letter today.

Congrats! What other schools are you looking at?

When was the letter postmarked? Congrats! Does Amherst send out the letters in waves?

Congratulations!

The letter was sent on March 3, 2005. But it was fed-exed, so it got to me the next day.

I also got into Yale... waiting for Harvard, Princeton.

I thought Amherst sent it on April 1st!

this is from the letter:

"I'm writing to you before the established notification date to give you ample opportunity to consider Amherst as you make your college choice"

Sounds like a likely letter to me! Congratulations :)

Thanks. The difference I would say is that it doesn't say that I'm "likely" to receive a spot. It says outright in bolded and italicized letters: "I am pleased to offer you a place in the class of 2009 at Amherst College".

I guess Amherst isn't bound to some council like the Ivy Leagues which prevent them from notifying officially before April 1st. The open house is on April 17 - 18, right when bulldog days is going on. Did anyone else receive an acceptance? This board is pretty dead.

Congratulations!

Just wondering...small or big envelope?:) Did it arrive regular mail?

I got one too! and I'm from Toronto too...I'm wondering if it's only to international students...? anyone else got the letter?

Did you guys apply for FA? And if you did, did you as Canadian citizens get separate treatment from other intels? I'm asking bc I'm trying to keep my hopes up.

It's fed-exed. In a big envelope, when u open the big envelope, there's a small envelope.

Are you a minority? Last year, the only students (for the most part) who heard this early were minorities or athletic recruits.

Does anyone know the msn group for amherst admits of 2009?

huh? can you phrase your question differently?

I'll PM it to you

Congratulations!

Congrats!! I'm so jealous! Can you post your stats for the rest of us still waiting?

Congrats davidrune :). Are you still planning on attending bulldog days?
