Just got the decision letter lol…
Early notification for RD seem to have started. Amherst is so cool! =) So much stress gone.
Anyone else got admitted? Visiting any time soon?
And to those of you that didn’t get a notification yet, Good Luck!

AHH me tooo!!!! cant say too much right now but ahhh

So wait, are you guys recruited athletes? Cause I thought the early writes were reserved mostly for them. Or are you guys just amazing academically? haha

Ahhh I just got one today!!! My stats are on the thread titled early writes or something like that. I'm not a recruited athlete either. I'm also an Asian male but I've been playing on the varsity lacrosse team for 3 years

The competition for applicants must be fierce this year.

Congratulations to everyone who was admitted!
Please take the time to think about what you want out of college and maybe even visit campus one more time before you make your final decisions.

Amherst is a wonderful place.

I got one today also!!

D had an Early Write three years ago and she wasn't an athlete, either. Congratulations to all who received their acceptances early. You will love it at Amherst!

I'm seriously considering it, I have come to really love the school. Hurray for early RD decisions!

i found the letter today too. was so surprised! this day has been too good to me...

congratulations and good luck to everyone, whether they received a letter or not!

Not an athlete, got the letter. Here I was, thinking I wouldn't be going to college, and now I've heard back from nearly every school I applied to... weird.

Hey, guys! I got my letter yesterday! So for you admits - do you think you will attend?

I think it mainly depends on where else I get into. But it is an amazing feeling knowing that the worst school I can end up at is Amherst, the #1 liberal arts college in the country. For me, the only schools that I would pick over Amherst would be Princeton, Dartmouth, or Stanford. It's nice to know that the other 7 schools I applied to that are below Amherst don't really matter anymore.

I have absolutely NO order of preference among the schools I applied to, basically. So it will all depend on the visit.

yeah, most of my schools are pretty close to each other in terms of preference. im gonna have a hard time wavering between choices...

I completely agree with PKWsurf21's sentiments, it's an amazing feeling.

This is actually ridiculous. Two of my friends and I all applied to Amherst RD, and we were so afraid that we would take each other's spots away. But all three of us got early writes!!! I can't believe it. And this other super-super qualified kid got in too (he's probably gonna go to Harvard...) I can't believe that 4 of us made it from our school already. It's a record!

I applied to Harvard, Yale and Princeton, just for kicks. But I'm pretty sure I will be attending Amherst.

I can attest to the fact that Amherst does not have a quota or limit on kids from any one school like perhaps some others might. Two years ago, they accepted 6. Last year, 4.

I'm a recent applicant to Amherst '13, and I poked around My Amherst today and I realized that I could "add feed". The add feed button is literally there and able to be clicked. I read that if the button is accessible, you're considered a student there, as opposed to being an applicant where the "add feed" button isn't accessible. Does that mean I'm admitted?

If you can get back to me with any validation of this, please let me know as soon as possible. This is freaking me out.

Thanks!

Where did you hear that from? I just checked my account as well, and it works for me (add feed)... but I don't know if that necessarily means anything o_O.
