Wow, that is very interesting. I thought it was against Ivy League policy to admit anyone before April 1. Perhaps you got a likely letter (?). In that case, congratulations. Could you also say what was in the letter?

Oh. I guess it is a likely letter? I just assumed from what it said that I got in...

"Dear XXXXXXX:

Congratulations! Every once in a while in the midst of reading hundreds of files, an admissions officer will be so excited about a student's application that he or she will come to me to ask if we might reserve a place in next year's class for that student. I am very pleased to tell you that this has happened in your case, and that we are provisionally reserving a place in the Class of 2009 for you. Such an offer before the normal notification date is highly unusual: from a near record number of over 19,000 applications we received this year, not even 100 applications inspire us to send this sort of early notice......"

WAY TO GO!

(I couldn't even get an interview)

Can I read ur essay?

David, I'd rather not share it. It's personal to me and I don't want to be getting "requests" lol.

Great job Ulysses :). Did you have any kind of hook that you haven't mentioned?

Also, davidrune was accepted too, so he wouldn't steal your essay if you chose to tell him. That's fine if you dont though. What area are you from?

Thanks newt.

I'm from the midwest. Yeah, I didn't even feel comfortable having my close friends read my essay. So I'd prefer not to send it to random people on the internet. No offense though!

I guess my hook was ability with English/Literature.

Nice :). Yeah, I'm from the midwest too (near chicago). I think there are three people on CC who were accepted early from the chicagoland area.
