I GOT INTO CSU'S AND UC W/ OUT IGETC?

I was accepted to SDSU, CSULB, CSULA, and CSUSF. For UC is UCSD, UCLA, UC Berkley, UC Irvine. I got into USD which is private university. I was told that we needed those classes on the IGETC they give at cc, but I guess not. I never took higher division math or science or lab. I wonder how I got into all these schools. I am a Philosophy major by the way who gets all A’s in all my Philosophy classes. Anyone else got into university without the requirements fulfilled?

IGETC is not required for UC or CSU admission, although some base level requirements are required.

What it does is fulfill lower division general education requirements at CSUs and most UCs, so that a CCC student can target one set of general education requirements (IGETC) instead of trying to match those of several campuses.

Since you will be transferring without IGETC, you need to complete the general education requirements of the campus you transfer to. Your previously completed CCC courses may fulfill some of those requirements.

why do all cc concelor swear by following theses requirements, saying you wont get in if you don’t take those classes. They just lie to make money.
