I got some questions about interviews...

So, I'm skeptical of whether or not I should do the USC interview, how big of an impact does this have on admissions? I kind of see it as a waste of time...

And, has anyone seen that one episode of Fresh Prince of Belair when Will Smith gets into Princeton solely based off his interview? Has anyone ever experienced anything like this or know of anyone? Anyone think it's plausible? I might do an interview with Princeton just to see if it works. I'll even bring a rubiks cube with me.

I've heard that for most schools if you are offered an interview, it's generally a good idea to take it. It shows you are legitimately interested in the school, and gives you a chance to portray yourself as more than just what's on the paper.

So no other replies?

If you are interested in the school, do it.
If not... I say do it anyway. It helps.

I think it's an excellent way to establish a relationship with a school, for them to get to know you better, and, more importantly, for you to get to know the school better.
This way, they can match a face with the application and make the whole process a bit more personal. Besides, it doesn't hurt to hear their stories etc.

It won't get you in but it will help. It displays interest in the school.

Haha, yes. I actually posted it on the Pton forum last year the day of decisions to help relieve stress. :)

Yeah I think it's a good ideal to take interview if your really interested in the school.
