Last year I was awarded the BOG fee waiver. When I checked my financial aid status it was called "Auto BOG". I did my FAFSA but I never submitted a BOG application because they didn't want it. Counselors and other students have told me that sometimes BOG just popped up because it just happens with filling the FAFSA, hence the name AUTO BOG. Is this true?
Now I have a new issue. About 3 days ago, it seems that my BOG was stripped from me! And now some of the semesters that have been waived aren't shown as waived anymore and they want me to pay it back as soon as possible. Including the semester I just finished. I'm upset because they pretty much gave me this reward without ask and now they just screwed me over and put me in a weird position. My semesters and past semesters are now not financially satisfied and I'm trying to fight for my BOG back. I don't know why they would give me something and suddenly take it away and I'm hoping it was just a mistake. Does this happen often? ANY help would be appreciated.
