pcc says I have a class fee waiver but didn't apply for Financial Aid???

ok so I got classes today and when I click on the "Fees/inquiry payment" button, it says $746 dollars waived. When I put the credit card # to pay it says there are no fees. I don't get why it's free if I never got F.A. I don;t know what to do because I dont want the day to come when it says that i forgot to pay the fees when it never said there was fees.

help please!

Fees waived means that you don’t have to pay for those classes…they waived them for you. It’s free probably because you were eligible for BOG. BOG pays for your course fees. Trust me, you’re fine  You’re lucky you have a BOGG! It saved my life for three years.

oh really that’s cool! thanks again Acoustickitty123!

Anytime :-)

Pretty sure you have to apply for financial aid to get the BOG waiver. Seems strange that you could qualify for BOG without finishing the FAFSA and listing the school otherwise there would be no way to determine your eligibility.

At my CC, when I registered, it had me fill out a BOGG fee waiver application first. This might’ve happened with yomaxe. If you don’t have the FASFA filled out though, your CC may ask for verification of the information you put on the application later on.

^Yes, you need to fill out the BOG (Board of Governors) application to be eligible for it.

If you do not remember filling out that application, then you should definitely check with the FA office at your school. It could mean a couple things if you did not fill it out: 1. The school somehow catches their mistake, in which case, yes, you will have to pay the balance before registering for any more classes, or 2. the school illegally applied for you to get the money from the state (which wouldn’t mkae too much sense since they would’ve gotten payment from you anyway, but CA College of the Arts has recently come under fire for their recuiters purposefully attracting Pell-Grant eligible students to get more money from the Gov’t, so assume anything is possible).

You should also file your FAFSA even if you think you will not get anything since it’s free.
