I had a horrible disaster of a Junior year in high school...

Ok, so up until my junior year i had perfect grades--meaning straight As. But in my junior year I got a D in AP Physics. My top choices for college are UCLA, USC, UCSD, and UCI. My question is, can i still get into some of these colleges? Or is all hope lost, considering that junior year is the most important year in high school, and is practically the last year that college admission people see (since senior 1st semester grades dont come out later)?

I am in a lot of extra-curriculars (Varsity Girls Golf, JV Girls Basketball, JV/Varsity Girls Track/field, Academic decathlon, community service, etc. etc.)

I am also taking AP Physics again next year (senior year) in an effort to make up the class.

Is it possible for me to redeem myself my senior year (admissions wise) by getting straight As?

I've always had a demanding schedule since freshman year:
9th grade schedule/ grades
--Honors geometry/A/A-
--Honors Bio/A/A+
--Honors Eng./A/A
--P.E./A/A
--Computers/health/A/A
--Spanish 2/A/A

10th grade schedule/ grades:
--Honors Algebra II/Trig./ B/B+
--Honors Chemistry/ A/A
--Honors World History/A/A
--Honors English/A/A
--Spanish 3/ A/A

11th grade schedule/ grades:
--AP Physics C+/D+
--AP English Lang./Comp./B+/C+
--AP U.S. History/C+/C
--Spanish 4/ A/A
--Honors Pre-calculus/B+/A

My schedule for next year:
--AP Bio
--AP Physics
--AP Liturature
--AP Calculus
--AP Government/Politic
--Business Admin. 1

IMHO, it looks to me that because of your very challenging course load junior year, your grades slipped in the majority of your classes. You achieved mostly C’s in your 3 AP classes you took junior year. if i were you, i wouldn’t, again, take a large amount of AP’s senior year. you really need to think about that because you do not want your GPA senior year to suffer any further. i would redo your schedule for next year

i am not familiar with the UC’s so i would not be able to tell you your chances there however, sorry!

agree with NY: your honors level courses must be MUCH easier than AP’s (or have grade inflation)…definitely reconsider your next year’s schedule…
