Well, we don't have any boost to APs and I take four of them, what a dumbass am I? Not really, APs actually make going to school worthy something.

wrong chaos, it also can be used in contractions, such as "school is".

You take 4 without any weight? That's the only reason I'm taking them...also so I can be ranked near the top of my class.

It'd be impossible for me to rank 1st in class though. There's a 14 year old girl (sophomore) in my Law Studies class that will have taken 5 AP's by the time 10th grade is over (she took AP Chem in 9th grade), so I'm screwed there lol.

^ Oh yes, there are several people like that. You have to watch out for them ;)
...Or contractions, yes.

My transcript is screwed up from 7th, 8th, 9th grade anyway :) . I hope colleges don't look at earlier years that much.

I hate AP World History which seems harder than AP US Govt for some reason. But i took it so i could beat the current person at #1 and everyone else in the top 5. Its sophomore year and i m the only person not taking any "real" elective (in 10th grade) so far i prob have a D which is a 2.0 in honors weight...(my school adds +1 to weighted classes)

AP World History...I wanted to take that, but for some reason my school has decided to never offer after a year of it. I like US History more than World History though.

I might ask my guidance counselor after the first sem. what my ranking is. I'm guessing I'm #5-10/180.

My school has too many smart kids, I wouldn't stand a chance of being number one.

My ranking would be something along the lines of:
You are tied for #1 with 449 other students, out of 450 students.

well AP in my school is weighted 1.2...but i dont really understand how that is applied

is that like, say u got a 100, ur weighted avg. would be a 120??

Yea My school doesn't weight grades, so the rankings are all screwed up.

I have a question:

Do all AP classes require you to do outlines?

I have to do them for APUSH and AP Govt.

Umm I never had to do outlines... except for my freshman year World History class.

ChaosTheory - were you referring to the apostrophe in "AP's"? Because apostrophes indicate plurality with abbreviations.

I feel really sorry for the people who have to take AP US for two years. It's a tough class, but I think 1 year is enough. If the teacher is good then it's good. Last year like 11 people got 5's and the rest got like 3 and 4's.

Also yeah I hate Ap's. So much work. I also hate people who take so many of them. And the people who take so many of them and can't handle it. Like many sophmores.

Cool, then no more outlines after this year. :P

I doubt anyone that said they only take AP's for the weight really does that. If I'm bored by regular classes, I can only imagine what everyone on here goes through when taking them.

AP classes are more boring than regular classes. They are filled with lecturing and work, not fun to me.

I like them because then I'm in a class with smart kids, rather than a class filled with idiots. And the wieght is an added bonus.

i hate APs cuz you cant take a break in class for anything or you wont get through the material...so even the whole class doesnt get soemthing the teacher just keeps going...adn our school doesnt weight.....AT ALL ...it sucks majorly ....

compared to OGL/advanced classes, my school adds a point.
compared to honors classes, my school adds half of a point.

pretty schweet. everyone should get a least that much.

the craziest class for me this year is ap environmental. we're constantly going outside in the woods behind my school, parks, whatever. i don't really like standing in disgusting creeks, so i have no idea why i took that class. and we have "exercises" almost every night. they're really projects. what a twisted euphemism.

i dunno, though. the teachers at my school are just kind of like "i'm going to present the material, and if you want to pay attention, that's cool. if you want to stay on the reading schedule, that's also cool. just get a 5."

and it works for us.

Next semester will sort of be like a living h*ll for me with APUSH and AP Govt. I'll have to do outlines in both (and not only just outlines, much more other assignments), so guess what I'll be doing over the weekends? lol

I'm thinking about getting voice-type software so I can get the outlines done faster, if it even works. :P

I Hate Ap Physics!!!
