APUSH is extremely hard. Took quiz on friday, the highest score was 79% but teacher said she's making it harder so that we can pass AP test and get an A.
Anyone knows how really hard AP test for APUSH is becuase I will barely get above C if not through AP test :(

I have an 80% in APUSH. It's a good thing that homework is worth alot more than quizzes in our class, because I bomb them almost every time.

Mm...you guys are mad that you don't get enough weighting and you go too fast?

We get no weighted grades (an A in an AP course = an A in Basket Weaving (not that we offer it but you get the point)). In addition, we have semester classes (like college) so essentially for APUSH, we're going at about a chapter a week...we spent a week on causes of/the actual Civil War and half of another on Reconstruction. In AP Euro, we spent (literally) two class periods on the Religious Wars and then took a test on it. In AP Chem, we often have a test or two a week. And the tests aren't made easier because the class goes faster. We get actual past AP tests for all of our tests and they get curved the same way an actual AP test would...but if everyone did exceptionally well, no curving at all.

I say, deal with it. If you don't like your system, don't take AP Classes or else stop complaining. You're taking them because you chose to.

btw...I reread that and realized it sounded really harsh (especially the last bit) and I didn't mean to be. I'm just saying that you really shouldn't be complaining about your terrible courseload/lack of weighting for APs since you did, after all, choose to take that class. :-/

^Well, I don't really do it for the weighting, though I don't mind it at all. :)

Colleges like to see rigor and besides my school requires everyone to take at least two.

You guys are lucky :/

A+ = 4
A = 4
A- = 3.6
B+ = 3.3
B = 3
B- = 2.6
C+ = 2.3
C = 2
C- = 1.6

We have two chapters per week.

^We used to do chapters a week with the American Pageant. Now we have The Enduring Vision, so we are only doing a chapter a week.

It's a good thing colleges weigh every applicant in a standard way.

Otherwise, all those people in certain states with 8.0+ GPAs would be getting in.

I'd kill for a +1.0...we only get +0.3.

I'd kill for my A-'s in AP classes to be 4.0 instead of 3.6 :(

ok my school only boosts like .05
no joke
it sucks...we have only 3 ap courses anyway...but for some reason, i keep going to this school
HELP! (apush is really bad, my teacher is not even certified! catholic school!)

It doesn't matter what it weighs at your high school. Colleges standardize GPA's between applicants, so no that one has an advantage. I know at some schools, students could earn an 8.0 GPA lol.
