Okay, so this year, they changed the AP Bio, curriculum, right? So they took off all those other systems and the phylogenies and stuff. So I took the practice Bio SATII questions on the College Board site and they were INCREDIBLY easy, so I thought the SATII would be cake.
Then I realized that I didn't know SQUAT. They had all of that stuff that they took off the AP, and I was just guessing my way through.
Luckily, I took M and those questions were INCREDIBLY easy.
I ended up with a 700, which is nothing to sneeze at but not what I was expecting either.
Do you think they'll cut any slack for all the AP Bio students because this is the first year we didn't need to know all of this?

^agreed. SAT II Bio may as well be more material than AP…

SAT II Bio definitely has more breadth and vocabulary than the AP Bio test. AP Bio changes will make it more difficult for students to do well on both.

My son took SAT II Bio and got a 600. His school did not have first year bio, so that is a real problem in terms of rote knowledge.

I don’t think they’ll cut slack, unfortunately. But I do wholeheartedly agree that the new bio test was terribly done. Ironically though, I think I did way worse on the AP than my SAT II score!
