I have 3.972 WEIGHTED GPA at the end of my Junior year (Advice Needed)

So I moved to America for my Junior year. We didn’t have the grading/GPA system in my country, so my current school did somethings and gave me a weighted GPA of 3.9, I think. I had no idea what AP and honor classes were, and how they are so important for colleges. So I took none of them. But I did schedule 3 AP classes for my senior year. I get mostly A’s and a few B’s in my classes. And now I think I won’t be able to get into a good college because my weighted GPA is low. I have no idea what my weighted GPA is though.

I got a 1250 on my SATs the first time I took it, and now I’m taking it again in 9 days. I’ll try to do my best. I might major in something related to “writing” (Not really sure). I don’t have good ECs in my current school. I had two articles published in two different newspapers back in my country, and I also run a blog. I had gotten a lot of certificates for achievement from mt previous school. I also volunteer as a crisis counselor at Crisis Textline.

Do you guys have any advice for me?

Start looking for schools that you like that match your stats. There really isn’t much other advice- since you’re going into your senior year, there is little to change in terms of grades, classes taken, and extra-curriculars participated in. You can still get into plenty of good colleges, just don’t only equate good colleges with super selective and competitive colleges.

“Start looking for schools that you like that match your stats.”

Exactly.

There are thousands of universities and colleges in the US, and many hundreds which are very good. From what you said you should be able to get into many very good schools. The top 50 might be beyond reach, and the next 50 or so might be reaches. That still leaves a lot of choices.

What is your citizenship status, are you instate for tuition where you live? What are your financial constraints?
