i looked on statfinder for berkeley for math/stats major. 0/3 people got in last year who didn't apply from cc (i go to ucsd) with a gpa of 3.4-3.6 (my gpa was 3.43 at time of update, 3.50 now).

i know its nowhere near a valid sample, but it sure is depressing.

so if you are feeling bad about your chances to berk, just remember the guy who has a 0% chance ;)

yes, so i think i have around a 50% chance to ucla, seeing as math/econ is 70% acceptance rate and the average gpa of math/econ admit is like 3.56 or something

well if you really want to switch into math/econ i’m sure you can, it’s doing the opposite that would be challenging.

yeah i’ve always been good at math, but about a year ago i decided i really love econ, so i am currently doing ucsd’s joint math/econ major. and if i don’t get into berk or la, i’ll be okay.

only God could get me into Berk. that, or maybe some drunk admin officers that mistake my 3.43 for a 3.93

it is unfortunate that you applied bus econ though. you have a much tougher chance. you would be auto admit (i’m assuming) if you applied to math/econ

I am Math Econ major.
Oh i wished that Cal offered that major as well…
I too took calc3 and de.
And i am left with Linear Algebra.
I spoke to the UCLA tap consellor and she told me that its fine for non-impacted majors to be missin out on a couple pre reqs. cos it dont matter much to them
