Can a sophomore apply? I will be 16 in march.

How selective is it? I have a 3.4 UW gpa. I am taking 2 ap classes this year.

Also, if i live outside new york are there any hotels/motels that i can stay at for cheap. It is a 7 week program, so wouldn’t it get expensive.

Yes, there were a couple sophomores last year.

Fairly selective. I have no idea what your chances are. Grades are not the full story either. If you can show passion/interest you should at least apply.

New York is expensive. I know one kid lived in Brooklyn in a very small apartment by himself. No idea how much it cost him. Rockefeller also gives stipends based on need so you can try applying for one of those to help reimburse the cost.

Hi ankurpatel, I did the program the summer before my senior year and had a really positive experience. To add on to what ender94 said…I am not from New York and I lived in a New School dorm located a bus ride away from Rockefeller. While it was still expensive, it was quite reasonable in New York City terms. I was in a suite and had one roommate. It was a little weird to be the only one doing the Rockefeller program in my dorm because everyone else on my floor was doing another program. But it was a pretty good living situation otherwise. I would definitely check it out online.

I know a couple people who live outside of New York and commuted every day about an hour by train. I’m not sure how far away you are from NY though.

Good luck!
