I got 217 on my PSATs (CR75 M76 W66) I live in NY so my percentages were 99, 99, 97. I have a feeling that the cut off will end up being 218. Any ideas?

It'll probably be around 3 points lower than last year's cut-off... If the cut-off was 220 last year, you're safe probably.

I think it was 218 last year.

it was 221

With 99, 99, 97, you are going to more than likely have a very, very close call- too close to tell. Unforunately, with scores that will bring you that close to (and possible over) the cut-off, there won't be any assurance until September. It's like a photo finish- just too close to call.

I would like to add to this discussion. Not everybody in your state will take the PSAT. Therefore 99% means only 99% for those students in your state taking the PSAT. For example in Wisconsin there are approximately 22,000 who take the PSAT, yet there are a total of 66,000 high school juniors. You have to take that into consideration. When cut-offs are determined they base it on the total number of juniors in your state, not the number who take the test.

I hope it gets to 218 in NY -crosses fingers-

my percentages were-

96/97/99

scores: 68/73/77

well, due to the writing curve, all the cutoffs should be 2-3 points lower.

It's funny though. I have a feeling it will be 219.

And my writing score jumped 4 points. My CR went down 3 though :(

I had the same thing, exactly 217, and I'm betting I missed it by one point, too.

When can we figure out about this?

Not until September.
