I think it’s best to apply to schools that you have visited, because sometimes the visit can really be what makes you love or hate a school. I have two friends that visited the same school, one loved it and one didn’t like it at all so she is able to save the time and effort (and application fee!) by not applying to a school she couldn’t see herself at. Plus if it’s a smaller school, they keep track of who visits and who doesn’t, and visiting shows interest which can be helpful in the admissions process. If you do get into the ones you haven’t seen I would recommend at least visiting it then. Good luck and hopefully you’ll be able to visit all of them!

What do you mean? I just did a general search on schools nearby and zeroed in on each and went and visited the ones I was most interested in based on what I found

It is fine to apply to schools before you visit, but I would really try to visit each school you are considering before you make a decision as to where to attend. Also SUNY New Paltz might be one to consider as well.
