I have a question about a bill I just got

So the bill says that at this time I must pay $3336.50.

The thing is I haven't applied for loans yet. Is this bill going to be covered with the Perkins and Stafford loans, or is is something that must come from my mother's pocket at this time?

Thanks for any help I can get because I am really confused with all this financial aid stuff.

P.S. Have any of you applied for the Perkins and Stafford loans yet? Or gotten any of the paperwork (the promissory notes)?

I think that's how much you have to pay because I don't have any financial aid and my dad got a bill for $22,000....

I would suggest contacting Financial Aid. You should not have to pay 3336.50. When your loans are applied to the Bursar Account, the balance is what you should pay.

lucky ppl...my bill is 23K

the bill you received is the amount YOU must pay..it already includes financial aid deductions. my bill only deducted the financial aid duke scholarship, not the loan, so i'm pretty sure that the bill does not include perkins/stafford.

Ok so I called and this is what they told me.

The loans will cover part of the bill. Since my loans added up to $2200, I have to pay the difference.

To apply for the perkins and stafford loans (if they were part of your aid package), then you must first accept the financial aid package. Once you do so, they will send you an email for the stafford from a lender and a letter for the perkins loan.

Hope this helps someone.

thanks you guys
