I have no life, chance me?

Rather than participate in rehearsal as I should, I'm on CC... story of my life.

GPA: 3.17/3.89
SAT: 2010
Subject: 650 Lit, 550 Math II, 580 US History, 610 French w Listening
APs: 4 English language, 2 statistics
Honors classes: Taken 7 honors/ap, school is a small private and doesn't offer a huge amount or honors required classes vs regular, everyone does the same thing.
ECs/other:
-Played violin for almost 10 years, played in orchestra and school concerts, have won concerts
-Played guitar for 2 years
-Graduating at age 16, skipped 2nd and 7th grades
-Trilingual, learning my fourth language
-Teach violin as a volunteer to underprivileged children every week for 4 hours
-Have traveled to 8 countries (I want to study international business), wrote essay about this, a lot of this has been spent performing community service abroad
-Cum laude on National Latin Exam
Essay: pretty good, ending maybe a tad cheesy but definitely conveyed passion and a sense of humor
Interview: really good.
Recs: 2 teacher, 1 counselor, all glowing.
Hook: Huge upward trend in grades, overseas internship as marketing director for aunt's company, so I have experience in what I want to study.

I'm sure I'm leaving stuff out and whatnot but that's the basic idea...

Though your GPA is on the low side, you have stellar ECs. Plus your experience, not to mention your obvious passion, defintely gives you an upperhand.

Though I don’t know thaaatt much about what makes a “good candidate,” I’d say you have a pretty good shot.

Good luck! :]

I haven’t seen anyone with your GPA here on CC report that they had been admitted at USC.

But from what you wrote here, it sounds like you have an interesting story- hopefully you will catch someone’s eye in admissions. I will be interested to hear if you get in so let us know- good luck!

thanks a ton!

your GPA is definitely low for usc (average uw gpa is around a 3.7), your SAT scores are in the average range. everything else seems impressive and would definitely help you out a lot for getting admitted. the thing i noticed though, is that usc does give emphasis on numbers.
