I have nooby SAT scores. What are my chances at these schools? THANKS!

Hey everyone! I’m a high school senior and I applied regular decisions for all my schools. Would really appreciate opinions on how strong of an applicant I am. Thanks!

Stats:
1410 sat (750 math, 660 english)
SAT 2: 640 math 2, 610 chem, 600 bio
GPA:
3.9 unweighted (one B received freshman year due to me being a noob back then), 5.2 weighted

Extracurriculars:

dual enrollment at local uni (not rlly an extracurricular but whatever), instructional assistant for biology at local uni, molecular biology and genetics research camp (i created a hypothetical cure for cancer), art (painting), film-making, environmental activism: me and 11 others raised 400 dollars for a wildlife center and helped physically rebuild the facility and I was on the marketing committee for it as well, I also volunteered at a nature conservancy at the information desk, created an online database for a library at a preschool for teacher’s to have easy access, dance freshman year, choir freshman year

At the uni i am dual enrolled in I take some honors college classes along w/ the regular college classes, and have maintained a 4.0 GPA for all 3 semesters I was there, putting me on the President’s List three times

I also received an outstanding achievement award in learning a language, and I am trilingual

I studied abroad my freshman year

I already submitted my apps and my personal essay I would say is pretty strong

I mostly want to do global health, but i applied to NYU Stern business school

Schools I applied to:

NYU
Boston University
University of Florida
Northeastern University
University of Chicago
Georgetown University
Yale
Harvard

What are my chances?? I know they are all kinda hard to get into, but my safety is the uni I already attend.

NYU - match
BU - match / low reach
UoF - match / high safety
Northeastern - match
UChicago - reach
Georgetown - reach
Yale - super reach
Harvard - super reach

Without any spectacular ECs or awards that would compensate for the low stats, I don’t think the T20s will be within reach, but who knows?

@GoBears2023 Thank you so much! Yeah…definitely not happening with half of them. Oh well lolll

I have similar stats to you and applied to very, very similar schools… Every single one of the schools minus the ivys and GTown on your list were at some point on mine before I got lazy and decided I didn’t want to put in the work for half of the supplements… Lol. Hopefully we both have a decent shot and find ourselves surprised at the decisions we receive!

@StudentBMA2 wow what a coincidence lol! As long as I get into like one or two im happy. I figured go big or go home heh. Good luck to you!

I’d put Stern as a reach too. It had (2 years ago before the pool became even more competitive) an 11% admit rate with median SAT of 1468. Students have posted that last year’s acceptance rate to Stern was around 8%. SAT median is also probably significantly higher by now judging by the higher SAT scores for all of NYU since (25th percentile 60 points higher, 75th 40 points higher at 1530; stern tends to be the upper portion of the SAT range). Your clustering of ECs in senior year as per your other thread will also count against you here.

The problem with “go big or go home” is that you have to be prepared to go home. You already know the last 4 on your list are reaches for everyone. I hope you have some proper matches and a couple of safeties on your college list too. Are you instate for Florida?

@SJ2727 yes i live in Florida

One of your other threads is titled “most of my ECs are crammed into my senior year will this be a red flag?” You also state that you slacked off until junior year. When combined with a lower quartile test score your application “may” suggest a narrative of someone who lacks the academic abilities and consistency required to thrive at HY and or a lack of authenticity and consistency in your ECs (that school’s like Gtown focus on per your other thread).

There is no escaping the reality that a lack of effort, an appearance of checking the box for ECs, and lower quartile test scores will have a major impact. In isolation they can be overcome by other factors but collectively probably not.

But you know this I am sure.

I am not looking to kick you while down, but you have created multiple threads with slightly different information in the hope of getting reassurances. I would prepare for the worst and hopefully some of your lower targets on other threads come through.

For kids without hooks the process at super elite schools is pretty efficient. You have to be strong across the board. The totality of what you have posted across CC suggests that you know you are deficient in several areas. Please learn from the experience and know that no matter what the outcome and where you wind up attending you remain in control of your own destiny.

Lastly given your profile you may wind up wait listed at several schools. Don’t take your foot off of the pedal!! FYI I posted a similar response across all 3 of the OPs overlapping themed threads.

Once again good luck.

@Nocreativity1 thank you for your responses!
