I have some serious concerns with my career choice. Help.

Just to warn you this will be kinda of a long post.

To give you a bit of a background on myself. 31 years old. wife and I are both working. Not working the best jobs but working. I'm a warehouse worker and she is a childcare teacher. She is pregnant and our son is due around the end of March. I am eager to start school again. I am very interested in computers but it's not the only thing I'm interested in. I'm interested in Mathematics and Finance/Accounting. I have a Introvert type personality. But also I don't shy away in the corner when I am in a party or a get together. I can be charismatic if I choose to be.

The reason I'm hesitating with computers is because of the constant learning I will be doing every year compared to other industries. Is is the industry with the fastest changes. Also not sure how well it will hold up if our economy goes through another recession in the future. I certainly want a career that I can grow old in and retire when I hit my 60's or 70's.

I just want my growing family to have financial stability. I don't want to be laid off and having to tell my wife and future kids that Christmas will be not as good as last year. I will feel horrible. Also if my kids want to enroll in soccer or other activities I want them to and not be hindered by salary. That's why I want to have good job security.

I just am not sure don't want to make the wrong mistake and waste time and money.

What should I do and anyone else in a similar situation?
