I haven't been able to tour UNC Chapel Hill because of the pandemic

My tour for Chapel Hill was canceled. I’ve only done a virtual tour of the campus and I’m trying to decide between this school and UNC Greensboro, which has offered a lot of scholarship money. What are some things I need to know about Chapel Hill before making a decision? Like what kind of people go there? Will I be able to build a relationship with my teachers?

you are better served trying to find kids who go there now or recent grads to ask your second question, on the first my guess is Chapel Hill has more out of state and international kids and most years a much better basketball team

What kind of people go to UNC? Well…all kinds. I know this is a general answer…but it’s the truth.

Can you build relationships with professors? Absolutely

CH is call Blue Heaven for a reason.

Franklin Street can’t be beat for food and entertainment. It is the oldest state university with massive oaks and stately buildings. Tremendous school spirit. Tons of extracurriculars. Large greek system. Huge alumni network.

The choice is obvious. But, go tour on your own. Take a map or booklet. Then you can at least get a feel for the top school in the state and a top ten in the country

Then you can at least get a feel for the top “public” school in the state and a top ten “public” in the country…

UNC Chapel Hill is a public ivy, top 30 national university, top 5 public. It abolsutely trunces UNC Greensboro, not even in the same breath. UNC also has a historic and absolutely beautiful campus. I’d choose Chapel Hill without even thinking twice. Your classmates will be far smarter, better research, better sports, better professors, better campus, better brand.

@BadLuckSenior no comparison between the 2. UNCG is a great school, but it’s not UNC. I’m an alum and my DD will be a freshman.
