Hey yall, dont know if there’s a post on this somewhere.
Im a junior and ill be visiting UNC. I’ll be going on an official tour, and I was wondering what I should expect to see, as well as other things that I should check out that really make UNC special (best food places, best sights, etc.)
The tour is pretty basic but informative. I would take the time to explore Chapel Hill and talk to students other than the tour guide.
I would definitely head toward Franklin Street after the tour and grab something to eat-- so many good restaurants you can’t go wrong. Also, I would check out Carrboro (right next to CH, 5 min drive). There’s a really nice co-op (Weaver St)
The tour guides do have some freedom to take their groups to different parts of the campus depending on the interests of the group. We also took an additional tour of the dorms. It is a good idea to check out Franklin Street and even Carborro, if you have some time. If the weather is nice you can hang out for a little in The Pit and talk to some students.
