I heard accounting is hard to transfer into. What are my chances to transfer for Fall 2017?

Someone told me their admission rate for accounting is in the low 10%'s. Bit worrying. I’ll likely finish my AA at a community college with a 3.7 overall and 4.0 preprofessional. Basically 0 extracurricular activities and what not. So, how am I looking? I know their page says 3.5 overall and preprofessional to be competitive, but Im guessing the bar is set higher than that for the admission rate to be in the low 10’s.

Also, their page encourages “serious candidates” to take calculus 2 even though it’s not a requirement. does taking calculus 2 make a difference in their selection process?

Cheers everyone.

From Summer B 2015 to Summer A 2016, UF had 155 transfer applicants for Accounted and admitted 14. So it is very competitive.

However, your GPA is also very competitive. I would recommend taking Calc 2 and doing well in it to help separate yourself out from the other applicants.

Good Luck!

Damn, 14 in 155. Not sure if I’ll take Calc 2 when my chances seem questionable. I’ll probably apply and hope for the best I guess. I appreciate the help and information a ton.
