I heard...

I heard that Columbia doesn't care about your SAT Essay score? Any truth to this? This could help my SAT score a little considering I got 80/80 MC right and an 8 on the essay giving me a 760.

The truth is, no college really takes the essay seriously because

They have their own essays

The way they grade the essays are BS. As long as you fill up almost all the lines you get an 8+. If you’re clear and concise, they’ll give you (and by you I mean ME) a 6 because it wasn’t long enough

760? You’re not satisfied with that? Adcoms probably won’t see much of a distinction between 760 and 800 . . . don’t let a possible academic-esteem issue cloud your view on an otherwise good score.

The thing is, my CR score is atrocious(a 620). My math is a 780. I would like any boost I can get. I am taking the ACT, though

If it matters, I sort of remember getting a 760 on the writing (8 essay, 1 MC wrong boooo) and I got in. I don’t think anyone takes the essay seriously except CollegeBoard. 760 is really fine, imho.

thanks guys
