I hope it isn't true that dreams predict the opposite of what will happen, because...

I had three separate dreams about being admitted to Princeton last night after not dreaming about it at all earlier in the process.

I was sitting in front of the computer ready to check my decision. My hands were shaking and my racing heartbeat seemed almost unnaturally loud. I closed my eyes and clicked the link, and when I opened them again, the screen read... CONGRATULATIONS. I was so shocked that I couldn't scream or even stand up to tell my family, but fell back into the chair and remained there, awestruck. I looked down and realized I was wearing an orange T-shirt.

That was the most convincing dream I've ever had; until I woke up (and for a few disoriented moments after), I was certain it was real. I went back to sleep.

My friend told me on Facebook that he'd just been accepted to Princeton. I thought it was a bit odd, because I knew he'd already been accepted to Amherst Early Decision, but the news still made me feel optimistic: "If Eric got in, I might actually have a decent chance!" Later, I found out through Facebook that I'd been accepted.

My dad woke me up to let me know he was leaving for work. I mumbled something unintelligible and fell asleep again.

Halfway through senior year, I was transferred from my tiny private high school to the ten times larger public school nearby. I had a schedule but no directions, and I couldn't find any students, teachers, or staff members to guide me. I ran up the stairs and through the halls trying to find my class, but I only seemed to get more lost the farther I went, and somewhere along the way, I'd dropped my schedule. I was finally intercepted by a menacing-looking figure who admonished me for being in the halls without a pass. She was some sort of administrator, so when I told her I was lost and needed a new schedule, she grudgingly agreed to print me one. The bad quality of the printout made it illegible, and the fact that she'd scribbled insults and lists of rules I'd broken all over the sheet didn't make following it any easier. I went out in the muddy yard and stood for a while watching a football practice in the rain before someone came out and told me I'd just been accepted to Princeton.

I woke up and my dog was at the foot of my bed, whining. I walked downstairs to let him outside.

So, did anyone else dream anything interesting (Princeton-related or otherwise) last night? :D

Hee. I also had dreams about my Ivy decisions last night. In the first one, I got into Columbia and was rejected from the other three, but was still happy about it. The strange part about it was that even though Princeton was one of the schools I applied to, I was rejected from UPenn (where I didn't apply), and received no decision from Princeton.

The next dream I had I got into 3 of the Ivies, including Princeton. The weird part about the Princeton acceptance was that it came via a little pin that said I was accepted.

Personally, I think dreams just tell you what your subconcious desires, so...I have had dreams that seemed to foreshadow events, though, so take that for what it's worth.
