Thanks! I guess I will have to wait until April to find out. Does Amy ever contact students between now and April?

I auditioned two weeks ago, and when I was there I am pretty sure Amy said that they would be sending out an email fairly soon to people who were not being considered for admission. But now I'm confused because that contradicts what CurlyGirl is saying. AAAhhh now I'm nervous becaue I haven't been notified about anything!

We send emails to SOME of the people we are considering - not all.

The only "snail mail" we send out before the acceptance letters are the NO letters. We usually send those out within the 2 weeks following the audition date.

No final decisions regarding the Accepted students will be made until after the last audition date on March 8th. Within the next three weeks, before April 1st, we will make the final decisions regarding all candidates.

Basically if you havent received anything yet, you are still being considered for acceptance.

Thank you so much! I guess no news is good news sometimes :)

So glad I looked this up! Pace is my D's #1 choice, ESPECIALLY after her wonderful audition experience. The family atmosphere that all the students and the faculty projected is the kind of supportive, cooperative and creative environment that she's craving.

BRbway thank you for your insights! ( Maybe we even saw you there? )

The academic acceptance came weeks ago and a scholarship today, but it won't mean anything without being accepted into the program! Her audition was Jan 31st and she hasn't heard anything yet, so here's hoping she's still being considered!

Oh, Hilary, I asked this in the other thread, but I'll mention here as well, for everyone's benefit. Does the Acting BFA acceptance/ rejection email/ letter follow the same pattern/ timetable as the Musical Theatre? D auditioned for both. Thanks!

Good luck everyone! :-)

Hello! Thank you for your kind words in the other thread. Your positive feedback means a lot to me as this process has grown this year and we were trying out new things so thank you again. I'm glad you guys had a great experience at Pace.

As for your question, the initial No Letters all follow the same pattern. We like to send them out right away so as not to lead students on. However, the rest of the process will go a little differently simply because there are two different people making the decisions. Grant, for Acting, and Amy for MT, both have there own processes when it comes to choosing. Being Amy's assistant I can tell more about that process than I can Grant's. Amy will send out emails to SOME perspective people and things like that. As more audition dates come and go, some of the people we may have been considered from a prior week may then be placed in a different category either in WL, or NO, etc. We try and do this after every audition so that we can keep the Nos going out ASAP because as I said before, it isnt fair to those students if they have no idea and could be making decisions with other schools. We try very hard to make sure that ALL of the students who audition have the opportunity to make the right decision about college even if it isnt with us - and thats why the Nos are the consistent letter.

Does that make sense typed out? :)

Thank you Hilary! Wow, that sure does answer the question and it makes absolute sense to me. In fact, it's the clearest description of a notification/selection process that I've ever read here on CC. I wish more schools would send out the "no's" right away for the very reason you talk about. It shows a fairness and a sensitivity on the part of the faculty.

So.. I guess we'll be sweating it out after each subsequent audition day. LOL!

and you're welcome. :-)

So, the Musical Theatre wait is over. D received her no letter today. :-( No regrets, she felt great about her audition. It just wasn't in the stars.

Still waiting on the answer for Acting. We'll see....
