I got one three or four days ago... it just goes to show that if you haven't gotten one yet, they may have just not gotten to your appplication. On another note, while it seems like all of the "likely" letter recipients applied to the SEAS, I do know a person who applied to Columbia College last year, and he got a likely letter, so I suppose the much-coveted Columbia College likely letter still exists...

Weird though, I havn't received a hard copy yet, I just got an email. I shouldn't take more than a week for it to get here from NY.

Mine took over a week to get here (in FL)

Oh my god I'm not only one. lol

im in houston and i still have not received mine and they said it was mailed last monday... stupid usps

I haven't recieved one in the mail, and it has been 2 weeks. I don't think I can afford to attend Columbia though, so I am not as anxious as some.

they give likelies to every SEAS applicant who they plan on accepting at that point. if you didn't get one, you might want to consider your other options now so that you won't get disappointed when letters actually come out. i don't want to sound mean and i don't intend on crushing anyone's hopes, but i'm at columbia now and every SEAS student there who applied RD got the same letter. i honestly think it would be better to think about other colleges if this is your situation. and if i happen to be wrong, think of it this way: you'll definitely be twice as excited if they accept you without a likely letter.

I am an International Student and have not got any letters from SEAS. Am I rejected then?

They've got 2 weeks left to review apps. They're clearly not done.

Hey,, I got the same likely letter from Columbia. Do you think that I will 100 % get the admission letter? I also got professor's mailing list and have a right to contact them. What I should to gurantee my acceptance? Actually I just got rejected by MIT,,, pretty frustrated.

at the same time... they may be done, but can't release real letters because of the Ivy agreement.

umm I've been reading this and just to clarify . . columbia college does send out likely letters I got my hard copy on Feb 28th and an e-mail a week before that

alliepants what were ur stats, ecs, etc? I'd imagine to be one of the select few to get a supposed columbia college likely you'd have to be an intel finalist with a 2400.

umm not even close i could almost put money on it that everyone in here has better SATs than me and more APs so I will leave that info out bc people would probably get mad , just wanted people to know columbia college gives likely letters too

Not really an accurate picture you are painting. Shouldn't you let these anxious kids know you are an athlete and were recruited as such. Just like getting a rise out of people? Many discussions on CC have agreed that Columbia College will send likelies to athletes and urms. The question most ponder is whether likelies are sent to the non-athlete, non-urm students by Columbia College.

i wasnt trying to get a rise out of anyone . . just stating columbia college gives out likely letters . . i might be an athlete but it is still a likely letter which people said columbia college did not hand out . .my friend got one too and she applied strickly because shes smart so they do

i have a question about likely letters...if you're accepted from ivy leagues such as columbia do you always get a likely letter? if not why do some people get likely letters and not others that are accepted?
