so. I tell you folks that its not a myth at all.
I got a 3.3 UW GPA first semester. that was 4.0 weighted
and i got 2.3 UW GPA 2nd semester. ouch. which was 3.0 weighted
i really didnt think that 2 B's and 4 C's 2nd semester was bad enough
but i guess i was wrong.

this sucks. truly.

wonder I i call them and try to explain my circumstances that theyll cancel their decison. pray for me

Although with people worrying about 1 C, how did you convince yourself that 4 Cs would be okay? I think UCs are really upfront about their 3.0 rule that leaves little ambiguity on the subject. The second semester mantra at my school was "B-AVERAGE!"

And really, I don't mean to be unsympathetic. I hope that they hear your case :<

both. it was both a slide and some circumstances.
my dad got in some trouble and my mom had to move to LA to help him
so i was left by myself and all. giving my family a hard time
but not a good enough excuse i suppose

Just be careful how you explain it, "we had a family emergency and I was left by myself" does not look good for someone who wants to go away for college.

no, only a-g courses count. Suggest you appeal in writing and explain your personal situation, and offer to retake a 'C' class this summer at a juco.

Rolling admissions somewhere, but if you got rescinded from UCLA, I'm not sure what school with rolling admits would accept you this late in the game. I'm sure there are some.

UCs are pretty selective, especially UCLA...but I guess you could try to reason it out with them but there's no guarantee at all. Did you apply anywhere else that you did get accepted to?

whew. i got a call from UCLA about the appeal. they say take two transferable courses and get a D or better and theyll review my file. but isnt it a bit late to sign up for summer school ? ehh anyone know where i can take classes now if they live in LA

East Los Angeles College has two summer sessions, and Session II is from July 16th - August 17th. I'm not sure if registration is still open, though. Good luck!
