rescinded: too late to appeal to UCs?

I got rescinded for not being able to fulfill the classes I said i'd take in the Spring...but I completed them in the summer with high marks. Is it possible to send an appeal to them for this, or is it already too late? my GPA is much higher and I also have more ECs on my belt! is it possible?

*this is for UCLA by the way!

I should say so. The adcoms ask for “new and compelling information”. This appears to be new and compelling, but why did you not complete your spring coursework?

This is new and compelling information that could get you reinstated but what also needs to be compelling is an explanation in your letter of appeal as to why you did not take the courses in the Spring like you said you would. They wanted to have these prerequisites done by Spring so that they would have time to verify your transcripts and know by early Summer whether you will be attending or not so they can select someone off of the waiting list by July to take your place. It is a week before classes begin and to be admitting students at this point is burdensome to them. Will they have your updated transcripts by the time registration begins? If they rescinded you in June or July and you did not file an appeal then UCLA might consider it a closed subject and given your spot to another student. You will probably be re-instated but do not be surprised if they instead say that you have to reapply for admission and start in Fall 2011.

just say the course wasn’t offered.

VIOLA

i couldnt take it in the spring, it was my own fault…

the class was full when i tried to add, and i bothered the professor to no end but she still wouldnt admit me, because of budget cuts there was only one class being offered for that course and 70 people trying to add

thing is i already sent an appeal after i got rescinded, but at that point i was only registered for the course, and havent actually taken it yet…

now i took the class and passed it with a B…but every other class I took since getting rescinded I got an A in…

I think if you get rescinded you are allowed one appeal and if it is rejected the cancellation of your admission becomes final. It sounds like you may have already used your appeal right after you were rescinded and it was rejected because you had only registered for the class rather than having completed it. Merely registering for a class is probably not considered new and compelling information like completing it with a B might be.

If that is the case I do not think you can start UCLA this Fall. It is a bitter pill to swallow but you will probably have to apply all over again for admission to UCLA and not be able to start classes there until next Fall, assuming that you are again accepted as a transfer student by UCLA.
