very good essay on the difficulties of growing up as a hispanic kid in an affluent, 93 percent white suburb. one of the best essays my counselor ever read, or so he tells me.

i already got into BC, which is really my dream school. i applied to yale just for fun really, i figured i had nothing to lose (except 70$) and i also realized that stats are just stats, but being a URM with >2000 puts you in the ballpark almost anywhere.

kids like me who apply just cuz they feel like it are the reason Yale's acceptance rate is so low...lol. sorry for polluting the applicant pool, as i feel that many of you are saying "this kid cannot be serious", but please, humor me.

Having applied to Yale, I don't really have a problem with so called "pollution of the applicant pool." As for your chances, I could say the obvious and predictable but it's not necessary. I don't even know why I responded to this; I think that chances threads are virtually useless because the readers don't actually see the application.

Don't Count on anything, But.. I would say hope

Why?

Because being a minority kind of changes everything.

My SAT's weren't far away from yours and I'm Brasilian. (2100). How many Brasilians do you know applying to Yale or Harvard? Do you have any unique EC's? I think a combination of having unique and dedicated EC's, being a Minority, and having good (not even great) SAT scores and GPA means you have an ok shot at acceptence. Don't give up hope. I'm not. I don't believe my chances are as likely as all the respectable people in this thread and in this forum, but I do have a tiny bit of hope. You should too!

HOPE THIS MADE YOU FEEL BETTER

*Excuse my grammar ( I'm quite groggy because I just woke up )
