I know I have 0.000001% chance. (Will chance you back)

<p>Do I have any chance for these universities: Emory/oxford college, Vanderbilt, Duke, Upenn, UF, Wake Forest, BU, Tufts, GA Tech (probably dont).</p>

<p>Stats:
GPAL 3.2 UW 4.2 W sucks i know
ACT: 35
SAT Subject: Math 2- 800, Bio- 770 WH- 800
Class Rigor for 12th grade
AP Biology
AP chemistry
AP Physics B
AP Stats
AP Micro/IB TOK
AP Latin
AP English Lit
IB History (US)
These are the 2 main ECs that reflect on my effort and work.
ECs: Research in the emerging field of microfluidics (nanotech), research in the area of parkinsons in elucidating the interactions between the newly discovered gene (LRRK2 ) with protein signaling transduction pathways, and finally completed research in developing a new biofuel cell.
Medical club: formed school group of Hosa, participating in public health projects for educating low income people and communities, and etc
Recs: from biology teacher who will elaborate on my research and contributions in medical club. Rec from a biophysics professor from the local university (He received a phd from Harvard), rec also from another faculty member from the same university who is the head of a biology lab there.
potential hooks: urm (black/african male, first to go to college, and research)
Please be honest
I doubt I have a chance really and I am not a troll
Thanks</p>

<p>Your 3.2 GPA will destroy you I think.</p>

<p>Exactly I am aware of that but what are my chances for each college?</p>

<p>I agree with the above poster… your GPA will definitely hurt. If you have a high class rank that would help. BUT your test scores are super, and you definitely have unique ECs and nice hooks. </p>

<p>Emory: high match/low reach
Vanderbilt: high/mid reach
Duke: high/mid reach
UPenn: high/mid reach
UF: match… in state
Wake: mid/high match, even reach (they don’t require test scores, so GPA is very important)
BU:match
Tufts:reach
GaTech: high match</p>

<p>You are a shoe in for UF
@wimmiett Most colleges that don’t require test scores look for high test scores on apps with low GPAs</p>

<p>I don’t think colleges care to much for senior year classes. If you can come up with a reason in your essay why your unweighted is so low it might help. I have a similar situation with my Freshman year.

<p>To the above poster: wrong. Colleges care A LOT about your senior year schedule.</p>

<p>Your GPA is really the only that’s holding you back. But if have your transcript with you, you can try to recalculate it. Just exclude all your elective courses and use this site [How</a> to Convert Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale](<a href=“College Board - SAT, AP, College Search and Admission Tools”>How to Convert (Calculate) Your GPA to a 4.0 Scale – BigFuture). Even with your gpa you still have a good chance at all those schools because of your background.</p>

<p>GPA is holding you back, but I think your ACT will be enough to propel you into at least 1 or 2 of those schools.</p>

<p>Class rank? Is this grade deflation?</p>

<p>Your standardized test scores are fantastic, but your GPA will probably make it very difficult to get into anything but UF, BU, and GA Tech. Chance me back please :)</p>

<p>I like your chances…</p>

<p>This is the worst part of CC. No one csn chance you based on a short numbers bio. Admissions use so many factors and if you think someone can just say match or reach its going to mislead you.</p>

<p>most of those schools are reaches for everyone but you have hooks. your extracurriculars are going to make you stand out which will offset your somewhat lower GPA. I think you have as good of a chance as anyone. I would say for wake forest, BU and UF youre definitely in. </p>

<p>Chance back? <a href=“http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1569436-will-chance-back.html[/url]”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1569436-will-chance-back.html&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

<p>I’d say duke, Vandy, Upenn, Emory, and tufts are mid to low reaches and everything else is a match.
Your ACT and ECs are so good. Research is a jujube hook
