<p>i think that quote is only referring to if, for instance, the university finds out someone stole the university’s keys or the like (so they won’t charge you), not when you’ve lost your keys.</p>

<p>From what I’ve experienced, yes, Muir res life will charge you if you lost your key.</p>
<p>My roommate in first year lost his key at the beach and definitely got hit up with the cost of replacing the locks/keys on our door.</p>
