I accidentally REA’d to both Harvard and Princeton yesterday until I realized it’s a deadly mistake. I applied thru coalition, is there a way to make one of them regular decision or is it too late? It’s freaking stressing me out because most likely I’ll be automatically dejected.
Sounds like you’re pretty dejected already.
Well it looks like I still have a chance since Harvard allows changes from EA to RD. Not for sure of course but it’s definitely something so hopefully my email reaches faster than the application itself.
You can always email admission and ask to change your application status to RD.
Thankfully it worked.
this is college admissions, contrary to the thinking on CC, it’s not a life and death situation. that being said, I’m not really sure how colleges enforce SCEA or REA, unless they talk with each other, while illegal (collusion) they probably do, at least the ivies.
Yeah I heard Ivies do talk with each other but I got the email from one of the two that they were able to change my REA to RD so I guess all’s good so far.
Glad to hear it all worked out and for the record, your biggest mistake to this point. You will, guaranteed, make much worse mistakes going forward. Try not to exaggerate their significance because the stress is not healthy. Good luck!
