i want to go to a CUNY (city university of new york) school and today is jan 26, i just mailed my recommendations and essays today and the deadline is feb 1st, only like 5 days.
Tomorrow is a blizzard and no one will be delivering or picking up mail so i have about 4 days to get my mail in. Now my question: will the colleges penalize me for getting the mail after the deadline? also how long do u think (with the snaow storm and everything, it will take for the mail to get to the schools?
Relax! You’re supposed to have it in the mail by the deadline - so it will be postmarked in time. More importantly, even if you were a day late, they wouldn’t chuck it in the trash. They WANT you to apply.
are you sure its support to be MAILED before the deadline? i never heard that before. im sorry im just scared shitless. u sure tho cus i dont want to get the wrong information lol. also, how does this postmarked system work? i dropped it in the mail box instead of the post office
They will not penalize you for the blizzard because it is obviously beyond your control. As @N’s Mom indicates, do not worry about this. If it would make you feel better, call them next week to confirm that it arrived.
Is Feb. 1st the application deadline or the deadline for supplementary materials? I suspect it’s for the application, however, you can always contact the school and ask if you want to know for sure.
Yes, if you are still concerned, just call the school, tell them what you’ve done and when you did it, and confirm that it is okay. Better than losing sleep over it!
