So it's well past the deadlines for all the schools I'm applying to and I've been checking the application status regularly (every 2-4 days) except it seems like NOBODY has received any of the stuff I sent in via snail mail. This includes all transcripts, recommendations and financial certification forms & bank statements.

I sent these registered by Canada Post so that I could get a tracking number and the status the Canada Post is giving me has not been updated in as long as 10-13 days for some. I have everything quoted as "arrived in destination country" but nothing more. So they're somewhere in the US...but I have no idea where.

I sent everything before the deadline (postmark) for all schools but do you think they will disregard my application because the documents didn't arrive on time??
I also sent registered stuff to Rice, which is a PO Box address. What should I do? The post office lady recommended I use registered because the documents are important and I'd get a tracking number, etc but a couple days later I realized Rice was a PO Box!

I feel like everything I've sent has gone missing and there's nothing I can do! Help!!

If it helps your response/advice in any way, I've applied to Rice, UIUC, USC, Macalester and Illinois Institute of Tech.

Thanks in advance :)

Hooray. I sent five items by registered mail, three to NYU (including two packages) and two to UT-Austin. Two were sent on the 27th of Dec, and three on the 13th of Jan. Singpost reports all of them as having left the country, while USPS has no record of any of the items except that one transcript I sent to UT (on the 27th) has arrived - that was a PO Box address too. However, it hasn't shown up on status check yet - seeing as the UT deadline is today, I don't wonder why.

Note that Canada Post will only have information on the mail when it is in Canada. For tracking it across the US, you need to check USPS.

I'm waiting it out till the colleges get their mail sorted. I might call them next week to see if they've got any of my mail, since USPS seems to have issues with tracking registered mail.

Ohh thanks for telling me about that USPS thing - I just checked all my tracking numbers. One out of the 6 packages I sent out has been received >< And I sent that one about 10 days ago. Stuff I sent to Rice and UIUC way back on Dec 26th still say "We have received notice that the originating post is preparing to dispatch this mail piece." Except the Canada Post tells me it's already in the US...

I'm afraid that the school's might have a deadline for receiving materials and that it's well past that. At least if this is the case and I call them this week I could try and plead my case and resend materials by Fedex if I have to..

I agree, USPS has registered mail tracking issues. I think from this experience I have lost faith in all forms of snail mail - email all the way!
