I might fail...

I followed everyone's advice.

I took my semester final exam and did reasonably well.
I ended up with a C in the class!!!

I will definitely try harder next semester and study the material more effectively if I do not end up dropping the class, which I may end up doing.

Thank you for helping me.

Congratulations on your survival!!!

Congratulations. Must feel good to know you could do it if you really want to.

Whew! YOu dodged a bullet. Congratulations on your C!!

I'm of two minds when it comes to whether you should drop the class.

One mind: Get out of Dodge while you still can. Drop the class. You have to protect whatever UC acceptance you get in March. Don't even go NEAR a class in which you could end up with a D.

Think of it as playing conservative ball as you run the clock out to protect your lead. I do not want to have you start a thread in May that begins--"I think I'm going to get a D in my AP Chem class--will UC rescind?"

Second Mind: You are learning how to study and apply yourself to a hard class. This is what you will have to do a lot at UC. You'll have to study a lot more than 3 hours a week per class. Classes will go really fast--especially since a lot of UCs are on the quarter system. Your AP Chem class is a great training ground for college.

I'll be interested to see what you decide. Let us know.
