I missed my interview...

I had an interview scheduled for the 12th at 11:00...basically, i scheduled this a very long time ago, knew it was on the 12th too, but for some stupid ****ing reason i thought the 12th was Sunday. I had my Cornell contact meeting on the 12th at 2:00 as well

So i wake up Saturday at 11;20ish, check my email; i go to confirm that my interviews are on the Sunday, 12th, and yes, they are on the 12th, but that would be that morning. I called my alum interviewer right away and apologized like mad and asked if there was anything i could do; she said she had room on Sunday, and not to worry about it

However, a few hours later i received an email that said she was in fact booked, and highly suggestive of my irresponsibility and lack of interest in georgetown. I went to talk to my counselor today at school but he wasn't really sure twhat i should do.

I don't know what to do. Georgetown SFS is in fact my top choice, and my stupidity regarding the interview seems to suggest otherwise; i realize that my alum interviewer rightfully should be annoyed with me, but like...damn. I know it sounds like a ****ing idiotic thing to not know the date right but i don't know...everyone makes mistakes. Mine just happens to suck hard :/

Do you guys think i should email my regional alum rep or something and see if there is anything i should do?

D:

Can you not reschedule with the original interviewer?

At least make an attempt, if anything it’ll show you care a bit more than someone who chose to do nothing. I’d email - but don’t make excuses, instead take ownership of your actions (you know like suck-up, write it was totally my lack of regard for priorities, or like in no means was I trying to undermine the respect I have of Georgetown, etc, etc). Plus, you’ll regret it if you don’t try.

John Adams said every problem is an opportunity in disguise.

This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your enthusiasm for Georgetown, your humility, your politeness, your accountability, your ability to accept criticism, etc. etc.

Or you can just give up.

Definitely get in contact with him/her because you never know it all depends like “expressway” said this would be the time to show how much you care for georgetown and express your “love” for georgetown through determination and persistence. You never know…so go for it  good luck!

Original interviewer said that the deadline for interviews was Monday so i would not have time to get one D:

Really? I had my interview yesterday. My interviewer was able to get Georgetown to extend the deadline for me; perhaps your’s could do that for you?
