I need a college inbetween UPenn and NYU

I am looking for a college that could be a high match or low reach. I have been told nyu is match and upenn is reach

33 act

3.6 will be 3.7 gpa with extreme upward trend 3.3 fresh/soph to 4.0 junior

Really good ECs including own company and some unique languages

Will take math2 and english SAT2

One AP(the most people in my grade has taken is 3 and that was only one person) but I got a 5 on AP macro

I am looking for an urban college that is fun, and wouldn't be too religious.

I don't like georgetown or wustl or Bu because I don't like the overall atmosphere

I don't think carnegie mellon would be that fun for me.

So I need more schools on par with those three but would be more fun

My current schools are tulane mcgill nyu bu upenn gwu and cuny hunter and maybe columbia (I am also thinking about uchicago, not sure though)

Maybe UCLA or USC?

Aim for some top colleges (Michigan, UNC, UVA, Emory maybe), but be certain to have two safeties (affordable, certain admittance) as well. Your GPA (trend or not) with one AP, is ordinary. Therefore, NYU is a low match IMO.

I am aiming for east coast but thanks! I know to have safeties, cuny hunter is one and they have the honors program which gives free tuition.

Boston College, Tufts, Cornell, Johns Hopkins

Michigan, Lehigh, Boston College, Colgate, Richmond, Wake Forest

I have taken the hardest classes available, I was supposed to take chem last year but it didn’t fit. And next year I am taking four APs

Go for BU, UCB, UCLA, Umich

By selectivity:

(UPenn)
Northwestern
Tufts
Vanderbilt
Michigan, Boston College
UVA
(NYU)

These are research universities between UPenn and NYU in selectivity, more or less urban, “fun”, and located east of the Mississippi. Ann Arbor and Charlottesville aren’t exactly urban if Chicago or Boston are your standards, but they are lively college towns.

Holy Cross and Tufts. imo, BC is more conservative Catholic schoool than the more liberal Holy Cross which has much better alumni network…

I believe that tk in post #9 has Tufts and Vanderbilt in reverse order.

^ Yes. The two are pretty close, but Vanderbilt does appear to be more selective based on recent admit rates and average test scores.

GW, American, Miami, delaware, are all more safe than many of the others.

Vanderbilt, Barnard (if you are female), Emory, Tufts, GW, Northwetern, UChicago, Johns Hopkins, BC (if it isn’t too religious)
