I'm looking for a school with a good engineering or a good psychology program. Ideal location is Mid-Atlantic or Northeast. Private school, not too big underclass size between 4,000-10,000. Indifferent about greek life. I live in NY, but DO NOT want to go to any college in NY. My GPA is a 89.93 UW, 90.1 without religion. ACT-28, SAT-1720(CR-540, M-600, W-580) Retaking both. Good EC's without getting into details.
Looking at:
Villanova
Lafayette College
Boston University, a bit too big
UChicago
UDelaware only public uni I like
Bucknell
UScranton
Manhattan College only as a safety, but no more in NY
Lehigh

Anyone have any good suggestions, particularly reaches and matches. Or any other colleges similar to the ones I'm looking at now

Add more safeties…I would retake SAT and try to get 600+ CR. If you can do that you have a shot at all on you list except UChicago. I think for Lehigh and Lafayette you may need a higher math score. But do not let my feedback discourage you from applying to any of these places…you never know what may happen

How about applying to some of the top SAT optional colleges? Wake Forest, Bates, Bowdoin, Middlebury, Wake Forest, Franklin & Marshall, Holy Cross, to name a few.

Class of '12 enrolled students at Bucknell SAT’s, middle 50% CR 600-680, middle 50% M 630-710. Average GPA 3.62. Admitted students stats are higher. Its acceptance rate is under 30%.

I think it is a big reach for you. Apply. But have better safeties on your list. Most of your listed schools seem like matches or reaches.

This board is so inconsistent, people have said Bucknell is a low reach and now your saying its a high reach, i know what I’m doing, and Scranton and Manhattan are absolute safeties, ill be in without a doubt. Besides morris what was the point of the post, i was looking for suggestions for new colleges to look at, not critiques at my current ones.

Little requirements? You already broke one with suggesting RIT and Clarckson, i said not in NY in uppercase if you actually read my requirements, and while i said Bucknell is a low reach, someone else on the board said that.

“and while i said Bucknell is a low reach, someone else on the board said that.”

Huh???

OK. I stand corrected. Leave out RIT and Clarkson.

Please leave out most of the other schools on your list because you SAT scores are AVERAGE at best. You might want to consider starting at a community college and transferring if you can get good grades.
