I need a couple more target schools.

@TurnerT In a way I am all over a little bit. The reason I asked the question about avoiding the party scene was I wouldn’t want to turn away from schools like NYU just because of alcohol problems. Thanks for all your help.

BC, Lehigh, Miami (OHIO & Fla), Fordham, Santa Clara, Richmond, Wake Forest, Bucknell, u of san Diego.

Davidson is a wonderful school, but I sure would hesitate to choose it if you are serious about CS.

When we visited last year and spent time with their lead CS professor, it was clear that CS was not an area of emphasis for Davidson, to her (the Prof’s) disappointment. Also, Davidson hardly a clear admittance for OP.

Santa Clara is another good suggestion, and the proximity to Silicon Valley might make some sense.

Still think Trinity is a perfect match for your credentials and interests. They also have substance free housing that is “mixed” into their dorms–so if you tell someone you are in X dorm, they have no idea that your are in substance free, if that makes a difference to you socially. Terrific school.

Good luck!

Yep, Davidson is one of the few remaining upper-tier LACs that, to my knowledge, does not even offer a CS major (last I checked, Bates and Kenyon are a couple of others, but the list is getting shorter all the time).

USC, Cal Berkeley, Santa Clara University.

It’s too late to apply to Berkeley.

Any thoughts on matches of schools that compete on the Division 3 level for baseball?

@ichiro Schools in NESCAC but they don’t offer business. In Liberty League, there are a few like Rochester and Union but no business. In Centennial, Muhlenberg does.

Patriot League is technically D1 but not competitive D1, you have Bucknell, Lehigh, Loyola, American, BU.

Trinity University–which 2 of us recommended highly upthread–competed in the D3 College World Series last year.

Another point in their favor.

Rice, on the other hand, is D1 and one of the best BB programs in the country, so unless you are a young Mike Trout, you will be hard-pressed to make their team!

Could I get into Johns Hopkins with the information listed in my original post?

1 in 7 at best at Hopkins.

^You sure it’s not 1 in 6 or 1 in 8?
