i need help desperately, =(

hello everyone,

despite the fact that im a newcomer,
i'd appreciate everyone for helping me.
i really need a serious help on my sat prep.

so, i took my first sat in jan. and got terrified
at my scores.. around 1700 ~1800.
then i took my second sat, which was in april,
and had to cancel that score because i just didn't feel it.

and then, i took my 3rd sat, the june one.
i just checked my score. . and didn't get any better.

now im hopeless and i don't know what to do.

im planning to take all sat2s in october,
and raise up to 2100+ on my november one.
the november one will be my 4th attempt but 3rd on the "report card".

do you guys think it's possible?

and also, can you guys give me some advices on
how to set your mind in order to prepare this bs crap,
and what do to in order to raise my scores?

anyone, everyone, dont just say,
"just check the other threads.." ,
i really need some good, solid advices.

thank you very much. =)

I think your expectations are a little too high.... Preparation I don't think can honestly raise your score 300 points in a couple months after you have already had several misses... Colleges will then see this is your third attempt.

I personally think the biggest thing to do is just relax. Take practice tests and look at where you made your mistakes. Most oftentimes, you can simply improve by just getting used to the test format and being able to handle the time limit efficiently.

coolsushicutter is right

i too was dissapointed in my score. I took this testmasters class which helped alot. (unfortunately, my math score only improved 20 points), but the rest of my other sections rose 100+ points. That was pretty cool. Taking a 3rd time isn't advised, but colleges take the BEST score.

Here is the code for $25 off the class:
8956973182

i think it helped the most because they are based off the blue collegeboard test book. & they also provide their own book with little short cuts. i hope it helps you.

ps: i went from 1800 something to 2200

What have you done so far to prepare or improve?

coolsushicutter ; thank you for your advice. im one of the asians who freaks out all the time and gets so much pressure from my so called "asian" parents. Maybe i just need to relax. But i think i still have a chance to show off my ability.. 3rd is prob. a bad idea then? oi, im so confused. but thank you very much for your reply.

Tuff_Ghost ; thank you for your reply. but is this "testmasters" really necessary? well, i guess $25 isn't that much, but i just want to do it by myself so that my parents wont have to worry about paying such and such. But thank you very much.

ADad; well, after my jan. one, i tried to go to this sat prep, but it didn't work on me. so i stopped going there. When i was mentally ready for my june sat, there were so much crap going on (i.e APs, school work, etc) so i couldn't really do anything. maybe that's why i did poorly on it. I tried to work on the sat prep books, but i got so bored out of it. I think my problem is that i dont work my butt off. Maybe i think i try to work all the time, but all these stresses and pressures always come first. Maybe i need to be more patient and try to practice day by day. oh my, i think im in trouble. well anyways, sorry if i was ambiguous on my thoughts but hope you get it. Thanks for replying. =)

What was it about the SAT prep course that "didn't work on me"?
