Thank you for reading this. Throughout HS, I’ve had tough situations (it will all be in my applications, but I am new to this. I don’t know if I should apply questbridge or common app. My family only makes 25k a yr (5 ppl only 1 source of income). We are below the poverty line. Due to this, it has impacted me a lot throughout HS. I wasn’t able to take AP courses-explained in my app. Anyways, I have a 34 ACT and 3.7ish gpa. I took a gap year to do some amazing things I feel. So, do I apply through questbridge? Im also worried about not being selected as a finalist. Please help me if you can Thank you all.
You sound like a great candidate. Just go for it. Don’t worry about not being selected as a finalist. Tell your story, and be content with doing your best!
Applying for Questbridge means you have 12 ED shots instead of one, with a full scholarship guarantee.
But you can also apply to your state flagship’s honors college.
And if you’re not matches all the QB colleges will reconsider your application anyway.
So, there’s no downside.

You can potentially apply to both!! I’d say apply for QB and if you’re not a finalist, then apply through the CA! If you are a finalist, then great! Go for the full match scholarships. If not, you can still apply regular through QB and you’ll likely receive similar if not the same financial aid package.
