Hello there,

well since June I've been practicing in the SAT Blue Book and based tests for the writing portion, I consistently get around 790 on the writing portion (with a 12 essay). I also have been using the practice quizzes from the SAT online course by the College Board and always get 100's on them (except maybe here and there I'll miss one or two.)

I got a 10 on the ACT essay, but I'm not sure what I'll get on the SAT essay. I'm a good writer but I have a really, really difficult time writing timed essays.

What would you say my SAT writing score will be?

It sounds as if you’re well prepared to take the test. So take it. Your score will be what it will be. Anybody who tells you anything more detailed than that is making stuff up.

Thanks, I suppose I should start practicing for the SAT essay! Because I don’t know if I’ll get a 12. I have the ability it’s just the timing that screws me up every time

but if I get a 10 on the essay I’ll have a 760 and I’d be satisfied with that too

Honestly, the difference between a 10 and a 12 is not that significant and depends a lot on the essay question. I wouldn’t worry about your score as much and just try to practice as much as possible :)
