<p>Hello all, I come to you with urgency and in need of dire help.
My background: I graduated in CA high school with 3.2 range GPA, with
community service award and art awards. Then I decided to go to CC
although I got accepted to Cal Poly Pomona, (I didn't even apply for UCs..)
due to financial and my poor study habits.</p>
<p>The problem is this.
My parents suggested that I major in engineering for the sake of job security,
so I took heavy loads of science and math classes and few GE classes. But tragically,
I got all Bs in all classes, 3 drops and changed my major to Econ at the end of
1st year. As a result, my GPA is a flat 3.0 and I am quite desperate for help.
Now I wanted to transfer to UCLA at first, and I still do, but now with 3.0,
I don't even qualify to transfer at min 3.2 I am looking at Cal States but I
really want to transfer to UCLA. </p>
<p>What can I do at this point, what do you suggest, and how can I get an A
not a B? Thanks all..</p>
<p>Study much harder, and participate in class more for As thats what I would suggest. Also maybe like take a class or two over again to get As in them and raise your gpa up! What about that?</p>
<p>first off,
you need to study more, just do it for now and soon youll get used to it, and always remember that youre doing it to get into ucla…</p>
<p>secondly, maybe retake a few of the important classes and get A’s, and then also take a few easier classes that will also transfer, so you can boost up your gpa through that </p>
<p>finally, talk to ucla admissions counselors, and your CC admissions counselor, see if they have any advice, and also do a lot of community service/get involved in school organizations :)</p>
<p>Do TAG agreements with the mid tier UCs. If you’re committed to economics now, you can do a TAG agreement with UCSB, UCI, or UC Davis, and you’ll have guaranteed admission with a minimum of 2.8 (2.9 for some cases) assuming you can complete IGETC. The TAG agreements do not require you to complete all lower division classes in economics.</p>
<p>Nope. I did two TAGs even though I was pretty set on only one of the schools. Here’s some TAGS for Fall 2010 which I think would be reasonable for your stats:</p>
<p>(Note that you must complete IGETC for all schools)</p>
